not too tall tale...
Clara Delfina is a Washington, DC based Old-Time and Country music multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
Born into a musical family, Clara grew up in Northern California, playing both classical violin and fiddle. In her early teens she left classical music to focus on old-time and traditional bluegrass. As a skilled multi-instrumentalist and song-writer, Clara's playing has attracted the attention of people across the world. In just a short time, Clara has become an experienced square dance fiddler and performing artist. Her energy and creativity provide a unique dynamic- giving her the flexibility to dig into archaic tunes as well as experiment with contemporary fiddle. Clara recently released her first solo album of traditional and original old-time tunes and songs featuring old Missouri ballads she collected from her own Grandmother.
Clara is currently teaching, playing square dances, performing locally, and working on a songwriting project, as well as touring with her band Clara & the Broken Barrel Stringband with Jake Blount, Haakon Oyen, and Landon George.
